STATEMENT OF OUR SIXTEEN FUNDAMENTAL TRUTHS
1. The Holy Scriptures - 2 Timothy 3:15-17; 1 Thessalonians 2:13
We
believe that the Bible is the God-inspired authoritative
rule of faith and contact for our lives. The
Word of God, in both Old and New Testaments is an accurate
revelation of the nature, attributes and personality of
God and His redemptive plan for man. The canon
of the Scriptures is complete.
2. The One True God - Deuteronomy
6:4-5
We believe in the one true God who has revealed himself
as eternally self-existent, and is the triune Father, Son,
and Holy Ghost. He is the living Creator. God
is love (1 John 4:16). He has
first loved us (1 John 4:19) and has
commanded us to love Him with all of our heart, soul and
might (Matthew 28:19).
3. The Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ - John
20:28-29
We believe Jesus Christ is God. His virgin birth,
baptism by John the Baptist, sinless life, miracles, death,
burial and resurrection from the dead and his exaltation
to the right hand of God the Father are clear declarations
of his deity. He is both the Son of God and God
the Son.
4. The Fall of Man - Romans 5:12
We believe man was created by God in His own likeness and
image, but that by voluntary disobedience, man fell from
perfection. Because of sin, death came into the
human race and man is lost (separated from his Creator)
and needs salvation and the gift of eternal life, without
which he will remain lost forever.
5. The Salvation of Man - Ephesians
2:8
We believe man's only hope of salvation, what Jesus called
"the new birth" in John 3:3, is through repentance
and faith in the blood that the Lord Jesus shed on the cross. Jesus
Christ alone is our sin offering. Man is saved
by grace through faith in the atoning work of Christ on
Calvary.
6. The Ordinances of the Church - Mark
16:16; 1 Corinthians 11:26
We believe that water baptism by immersion is an outward
witness of an inward work of grace. We believe
holy Communion is a celebration and sharing of our Lord's
divine nature, suffering and death and a proclamation of
His second coming and the coming wedding feast of the Lamb.
7. The Baptism in the Holy Spirit - Acts
4:31; Epheesians 5:18
We believe that the baptism (the infilling) of the Holy
Spirit is for every Christian, anointing the believer and
enduing him with supernatural power to witness unto Christ,
thus enabling him to "Walk in the Spirit."
8. The Prophetic Gift - 1 Corinthians
14:3
We believe that God actively speaks today and that prophecy
is an essential gift of the Holy Spirit and hearing God
ought to be an active part of our daily lives, both individually
and corporately as a church assembled.
9. Sanctification - Romans 12:1
We believe each Christian is called to a life of separation
from evil and dedication to God through the finished work
of Christ on the cross, resulting in a holy lifestyle. The
only way to overcome the sin nature and live a life of victory
is through placing our faith exclusively in the cross, and
leaving it there. Romans 6:7-8 gives us the keys
to spiritual growth. The Christian must take
up his cross daily and follow Jesus. We also believe that
Jesus taught the church that the power of prayer and fasting
will bring divine results.
10. The Church and It's Mission - Mark
16:15,16
We believe the Body of Christ is responsible to carry out
its threefold mission: to evangelize the lost, corporately
worship God, and to perfect (mature) the saints, fulfilling
the Great Commission.
11. The Five-Fold Ministry - Ephesians
4:11-16
We believe God has divinely placed "the five-fold ministry
gifts of apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor and teacher"
within the Body of Christ to function under the leadership
of the Holy Sprit, for the purpose of edifying the whole
church and ministering to the whole man, body, soul and
spirit.
12. Divine Healing - Matthew 8:16-17;James
5:14-16
We believe an integral part of the gospel message is deliverance
from disease and demonic attacks through active faith in
Jesus' work on the cross as our substitute as prophesied
in Isaiah 53:4-5
13. The Second Coming of Christ - 1
Thessalonians 4:16-17
We believe that the rapture and the second coming of Christ
to the earth will be personal and imminent.
14. The Millennial Reign of Christ - Revelation
19:11-14; 20:1-6
We believe that the visible return of Christ with His glorified
saints will result in His reigning for 1,000 years from
Jerusalem, fulfilling Scriptural prophecies of "the
Golden Age" of the Messiah.
15. The Final Judgment - Revelation
20:11-15
We believe there will be a final judgment of everlasting
punishment for those whose names are not written in the
Lamb's Book of Life, from the foundation of the earth. And
we believe that for those who have been regenerated (born
again) there will be a life of everlasting joy in the presence
of God.
16. The New Heavens and the New Earth - Revelation
21:22
We believe that following the final judgment, God will establish
a new heaven and a new earth (with a new Jerusalem) for
those who have been reborn into His family, to worship and
enjoy God forever!
